Looking in a mirror, hold a pencil vertically and place the pencil along your nose toward the center of the nostril. Where the pencil intersects the brow or brow bone is where the brow should begin. Mark this spot with an eye pencil.
For the arch, keep the base of the pencil where it is, and while looking straight ahead, line up the top end of the pencil to the outside of the colored part of your eye, the iris. Where the pencil falls on the brow is where your arch should fall. Mark this spot with an eye pencil above the brow.
Without moving the base of the pencil, move the top end outward to line up with the outside corner of your eye. Where the top of the pencil intersects the brow is where the brow should end. Mark this spot with an eye pencil.
These marks will be your guide as you begin to tweeze. I recommend tweezing when working alone. Waxing can be messy, and you can remove too much hair with a quick flick of the wrist! The brow should be fullest at the beginning point and gradually become thinner toward the arch and then out to the end. Take your time and take a step back and look at your whole face after every few hairs tweezed. It is very easy to tweeze out too many brow hairs. If you have stray hairs above the brow, you can tweeze these as well, but tweeze carefully, or you might create a hole in the brow, which would not be a good look. Trimming the brows is best left to a professional, but if you think that yours are very long, brush them upward and trim the hair to slightly above the natural brow line. Too short, and they might stick straight out!

Go to Sephora and buy a kit made by Anastasia (she's the eyebrow Guru for the Hollywood scene) for eyebrows. There are stencils in it to help you create the look you want for your brows, along with all the tools you'll need to get the job done. The tweezers are the really nice kind that isolate individual hairs better than your average tweezer....that way you can be more precise. I think it's a little pricey...but better than spending $15+ each time you have to go to the salon to wax them. You can also go to sephora.com and look under the Anastasia brand for tips on eyebrow shaping. Hope that helps!

try using ice to numb the brows first. then pluck. if you still would like to get them done. go there but brings a white eyeliner pencil. draw the shape you want and tell them not to wax on or below the line. if they do they messed up and you wont have to pay. worth a try dont know any other ways. shaving just doesnt do the job good.

you don't.
pay the money and get them professionally done.
that's how you get the pretty eyebrow look.
i prefer threading over waxing or plucking but, threading is not avalible everywhere. finding a place to wax eyebrows is easy though...i advise do not try to shape your eyebrows yourself...!

Well I'm not really sure if this helps but if you want to do them yourself just put some bonjela over the area to numb it. My sister tried it and she said it works. I know what you mean about getting them done at a beautician's they never really listen.
