Believe it or not, I have had the best luck throwing them in the washing machine in mild water on gentle cycle. It doesn't completely rid the "dirty toes" but it works better than anything else I have tried. =)

Clorox Bleach Pen Works Wonders on the white Flip Flops!!! And purses!. Just use that and then wipe it off with a rag. Its a miracle.

Washing them in soapy warm water should do the trick if the material is all rubber.
However, if it's of mixed material, ie, rubber sole but fabric post, then you can treat it the same way except you have to support the post for drying to avoid it creasing.

My mom was a nurse and had to wear white shoes all the time and they got scuffed up a good bit and would need re-whitened. I'd say just get a bottle of shoe whitener at your local wal-mart.

Honestly, I've used a bowl of bleach and cleaned them off with that using a tooth brush...it worked :)

I have also used white shoe polish after I washed them...that worked pretty well too!

never tried it but I think you can take a rag and pour a little bleach on it and rub it on the flip flops......
