Our governor and "representatives" continually utter the same tired rhetoric about our "unique culture" and "our spirit" when confronted with questions about Louisiana's status as a "bottom-of-the-list" state. The abysmal condition of Louisiana (crime, poverty, healthcare, education, quality of life, etc.) isn't going to be remedied because of our "joie de vie" or our mardi gras parades.

I totally, completely agree with you. And I think that 2 of the worst people for our state are Gov. Kathleen Blanco and Rep. Mary Landrieu. I also think that they are blaming the condition of our state on the 2 hurricanes, but our state was a **** hole before the hurricane. It will stay a **** hole until we get good politicians that actually make a difference instead of just making empty promises.
