We were never attacked on American soil while Carter was president. Just like you guys say that about Bush when argueing that he is a "great" president.
Doesn't Bush actually have to do something right for you guys to be happy?

For those a little slow on the uptake:
If you judge Carter (cons can't stand him) by the low standards the argue for Bush,
Then by that, Conservatives would have to judge him a success.
Or better yet admit Bush is a failure, if you're honest about it.

Now its a Carter bashing party...
Will none of you address Bush's failures in Iraq (not the country that attacked us on 9/11)?

Oh you guys are so convincing!!! Still don't want to admit about Bush, how about this:
"We were never attacked within the borders of this country."
Will you not admit yet about Bush ?

And some of them might like the fact that Carter considers himself a fundamentalist Christian, as well.

Carter is a great humanitarian but one of the absolute worst presidents that this country has ever had. We haven't exactly had great candidates for presidency in the last two elections. of the choices who would have better served this country at this time? No one. Bush was the only intelligent choice. By the way, in the past decade no one even pondered the idea that 9/11 would happen. I am glad he was in office at the time. We needed a strong leader.

Bush was president around 8 months when we were attacked. The plan was in the works WAY before he even got elected. Why dont you libs face the fact that if your boy Bill Clinton had not looked the other way and got Bin Laden when he had, not one, not two, but FIVE chances to either kill or capture him then maybe we would not be having this discussion today.
I assume that you are being facetious when you say that Carter was a great president. But just in case you aren't. Here are some facts. He is the reason that the "misery index" was created. Unemployment and inflation were out of control when he was president. U.S. citizens were captured in Iran and held captive for 444 days. About two months after Reagan took office they were released. Carter was a nincompoop.

We WERE ATTACKED ON AMERICAN SOIL . The U.S. Embassy, which IS American Soil, was attacked in IRAN, and the Americans who were there were taken hostage for 444 days . Hardly a success story .
How about the Oil Embargo. . . . . Gas rationing and shortages .
Gave up the Panama Canal. . . I'd go further in great detail, but if you don't understand about the Iranian Hostage Crisis. . . then how can I expect you to understand anything else .
If you're interested in only bashing. . . then get your facts straight !!!

It's not comparable.
Bush reacted to an Act of War on America. Carter did not (taking an embassy is an act of war) and let Americans be held captive for 444 days.
Why this mass liberal stupidity and childishness. We're talking real events here, not the juvenile practice of playing "gotcha".

Hate to burst your bubble but we were attacked on American soil under Carter (whom I as conservative hate). On Nov 4, 1979 Iranian terrorists took American Embassy in Tehran hostage. According to international laws passed by the UN territories that belong to the embassies are legal lands of those countries, i.e. American Embassy in Tehran is part of American sovereign land. So, any American who thinks he is being threatened at his visiting country can go to American Embassy and he would be on American soil and subject to American laws and not those of visiting land.
So, technically speaking America was attacked under Carter, by the way this was one of the major crisis that contributed to his defeat during the Presidential election.

Gee, that's a great way of looking at it. I'm sure all the Iran Embassy hostages and their families will send you gifts as tribute to remember just how great a job Carter did at freeing them.

Only if Wiki has now redefined the word "great." Never attacked on American soil? Well, I suppose if you don't consider the hostage crisis an attack on US soil.
Carter can be called a great humanitarian, I suppose, because of his work with Habitat for Humanities. I won't take that from him.
But for him to come out and attack Bush for failed diplomacy, after he failed to get the hostages back, and failed to deal with Iran (we are still dealing with Iran), he opened himself up to much deserved criticism.
