I don't know if it runs, but it does turn over the carb is disconnected from the manifold, a friend wants $500 , is that to much?

well according to froogle.com on ebay there is a working new one for $1470..yours sounds like it's not that great of shape and not really running..I think $500 sounds like a decent deal if you know you can get it working again for less than $300 bucks..if you can't..then buck up the $1470 and get one that works.

It's hard to say. Is it a marine engine, or a automobile engine? If you plan on putting it in a boat, you have to make sure it's set up for it. There's a number of differences between marine and automotive engines!
