Just wondering what jobs are available for Sociology majors besides the overdrawn social worker. And more, what are jobs I can find that involve children (besides social work)?

Teaching would be the one that would directly link to sociology (you can get a job in a private school without often having a teaching credential). You can get a job in a recreation program or afterschool program. Americorp or service learning programs would be anotehr option. Most other jobs are in someway related to social work (e.g. prevention, intervention programs with youth, group homes, peer mentoring, big brother). DA

wow. anything. (that is, anything not too technical!) basically, if you want to actually use your sociology degree, as in putting ALL that you've learned to good use, you're looking at either teaching sociology or getting a government job in conducting studies. neither of which pay very well. but you can get very general jobs with a sociology degree as well. i was very close to my sociology professor, my FAVORITE teacher out of them all. good luck to you. it's not easy deciding on a major. ask lots of questions.
