i run a charity can anyone tell me an easy way to start a blog. i need it for research. thanks?

I'm helping a charity, too. I went with blogger.com. I started them "hidden". That is, while I was in the process of setting them up, I didn't tell anyone the blog existed.

Google runs blogger.com. The "beta" interface (actually, it's no longer "beta" but I was there when it was) is easy to deal with, and doesn't have to be technical, but can, if you want and are able. You can also set it up in many ways. One way is that, either, you are the sole administrator, and can alone approve all posts and comments. Another could be that only members of the charity may post...all that.

You may choose from various formats.

It is important to update often.

I set it up using the charity's profile consisting of a statement of the charity's purpose, and the profile photo consisting of the charity's logo. I placed, in the charity's contacts list (actually, administrators' list) a list of all members of the Board of Directors. I placed blog entries (you can change the dates as you please) consisting of past newsletter items. I placed a bottom section, screen-wide, consisting of a required legal statement (this is a not-for-profit, not-discriminatory, equal opportunity, etc.)

Yahoo!360 is a blog. You can use Yahoo!360 to do a lot of things. To get Yahoo!360, go to Yahoo! home page, click on "More Yahoo! Services". (It is a yellow/orange bar, about half way down the page, that you must click on.) Go to the bottom of the next page and click on the "360" link under the "#" link. That should bring you to the page where you can get a Yahoo!360 of your own.

It's fun, easy, you can write all the Blogs you want, keep pictures there, make friends, keep links available to you, and you can keep the entire Yahoo!360 to yourself, share it with a few chosen people, share it with everyone, or share it with mature people only. Good luck.

You can easily start a blog on Blogger. It's free, you can upload photos for free, it's got a very simple interface.

As you learn about blogging, you can start using the features in Blogger. But even before you get to that point, you can get started right away.
