I do. I have to admit, the first year with Kelly Clarkson was good stuff, but since then the show has really nothing to offer me. All I see it as is a self serving marketing tool (Coke, anyone) that does nothing but thrust "instant celebrities" in our faces that really bring nothing to the table. Alas, the show is not going anywhere as long as it keeps bringing in the $$$, but man am I ready for the next big thing.
Anyways, let me know your thoughts and peace-

I hate that show and refuse to watch it. I'd rather not spend my time watching a bunch of talentless freaks just try to be on TV, LAME as hell. It bothers me that this show is now # 1 in the ratings. It's pretty sad and pathetic what our American "culture" has become.

I completely 100% agree with you. Since Kelly the show is too commercial and it's just annoying, the auditions are getting worse and worse... then for someone like Taylor Hicks to win. It's all fixed, they have said it many times in behind the scenes things... It's not my favorite show and I try to just not watch any part of it now. Plus Ryan Seacrest, come on, if I wanted to see him I'd watch E News, which is why I don't watch E News!

Of course it's a marketing tool. True talented singers get noticed without having to audition for a television show. If you are watching the show to find talent, you won't find it there. There are a few who have very soulful voices, but nothing extroadenary. The show is simply to entertain and for anyone looking for more, they won't find it on American Idol. Thank you.

Yes those judges are too big for their britches and a lot of the contessants are professionally paid singers anyway and most of them would make it without the T.V. show. Every year they keep trying to top the last year and you can't humanly do that any longer. Let's put a movie on instead. I may not watch it anymore because the judges make me mad.

I completely disagree. I love American Idol and you must be blind if you don't see any talent.
Would Jennifer Hudson have won an OSCAR if she didn't have any talent? That's a big deal, if it wasn't for American Idol discovering her TALENT, than that would have never happened.
Also, I LOVE Taylor Hicks, he is amazing and brings plenty to the table.

I think the truly good singers were in the first 2 years of the show and the leftovers are what we're hearing now.
