Yes you will need a visa to visit Egypt.
You can either obtain your visa at home before you leave. Or it can very easily be obtained the Cairo airport on your arrival. It is a very simple procedure and one a lot of travellers prefer to use now, including myself.
There is always that time when you are standing around waiting for your luggage to come of the plane and through the roundabout for pick up.
This is a perfect time to go and use your ATM debit or credit card at the machine, and get some Egyptian cash.
Get enough to cover all you will need for the taxi into town if you are not being picked up ,your visa and cash you may think you need for the day.
The visa office is near by so it is quite easy to do both in 5-10 minutes.
The taxi is going to cost around 40-50L.E.,dont pay more!
There will be plenty to choose from and you will get one at the price you say you will pay.
Egypt certainly has an amazing hitory and a culture and civilization that streches back well before the pyramids were even built. There are so many wonderful things to see and I guarantee you will return home will memories you will hold especially dear for many years.
The people are open and very friendly and someone is always happy to give directions or assistance if you need it.
After all tourism began there over 2,000 yrs ago.

Yes, you do. Better include Luxor, Aswan, and Cairo in your itinerary.
