Depends on the format. I download movies in AVI format
and they're DVD quality and only 700 mb.
Of course, you didn't say wheather it's a movie to download, on
a DVD disk, or what. When I burn them Most DVD disks are
around 4.5 GB

A lot... :)
Really, I've made many DVDs...and find that 3-4 GB will hold an average high quality (low compression) 80-90 minute movie.
The compression is a major factor. Also there is DivX which I believe is supported in many many new DVD players which gives you high quality and very good compression so you might get 2 hours onto a single single layer DVD (4.7GB)

That one is easy
A usual 2 hour movie uses about 700 MB and there have been cases where it will use up to 800 but there has never been one that is 2 hours that uses more then that.

Roughly around 7 - 8 gigabytes for a DVD movie. Do not be fooled by what others are saying about avi and such. Unless it is a .VOB file for the movie it is just a conversion and as far as I can .avi will NOT play in a dvd player.

Standard digital video footage, if that is what your asking about, takes up about 3.6 MB of your hard drive space PER SECOND. So then, 2 hrs would be about 28 GB.

somewhere arond 7.5GB, but it really depends on the content of the movie, resolution, quality, etc... Black video takes up more space than white video...
