Part one--Because he wanted some cool cash.

Part two- There are some who say it's because they are Democrats. Let a Republican get caught red handed and the Democrats don't stop till they are run out of town. If a Democrat gets caught they aren't run out of town unless they are thrown in JAIL.

I'm sorry if you disagree with me but it doesn't seem to matter what Democrats do, to other Democrats at least. The number of Democrats who have been involved in shady and even been convicted of illegal deals and then been re-elected to office are many.

Newt got run out of town for making a book deal. Hillary got elected after her book deal. The only difference was Newt was in office and Hillary was only running for office, she wasn't elected YET.

Actually I thought Newt probably would have had a better book. After all he could remember things. Hillary claims she couldn't remember Jack.

Which brings up the point? Why would a publisher pay millions for a book from someone who couldn't remember anything? Now that sounds like a bribe to me.

Because Democrats don't change and bend the laws to suit their purposes. Yep Clinton hid money in the freeze, 80 grand. Bush has paid Haliburton more then 80 grand with's it's no bid contact. It's the tax payers that are paying for Haliburton. We weren't the ones to pay the freezer money.
I didn't realize President Bill Clinton was put on the homeland security sub-committee. How interesting.

They don't, ONE did. I guess by your logic all Republicans representatives are sending pages suggestive emails. He got put on that committee because the Black Democratic Caucus was throwing a fit that he was removed from all committees by Pelosi until he was proven innocent. They maintained he was innocent until proven guilty and was being unfairly censored. They put a lot of pressure on the Democrats over this, and they capitulated. I don't think he can expect a lot of slaps on the back from most of them, and assigning him to Homeland Security galled Pelosi to no end, and I can understand why.

I guess its the same reason that Republican pedophiles get to co-chair the Congressional Missing and Exploited Children's Caucus.

One big difference though? Republicans tried to protect Foley and Democrats publicly excoriated Jefferson.

Gettin' kind of general there aren't we? Perhaps someone prefers cold hard cash in hand rather than borrowing from grand children. (If there is a problem with this why is he still there. Wasn't he part of all of that a few years ago? So why didn't the neocon congress do anything?)

Why do Republicans take money for lobbying for indian reservations gaming rights, and then turn around and take money from groups who are trying to stop indian reservations from having casinos?
