...what is that metal, blueish "thing" he is standing infront of? I have no clue and I don't want anyone to give me grief for asking.

those are horse heads. the actors wore metal horse heads and hoofs to represent the horses. it would look doubly creepy if they used real horses in the play.

don't know what picture your referring to - but I imagine it's a pic of one of the horse heads. The horses are depicted by men - and they wear large metal horse heads. Very eerie.
