It's fun to watch Simon's remarks because he's so blunt, but honest. The audience is so numb and stupid in their judgement most of the time. When they boo Simon's negative comments, it makes me laugh... because he's usually right on. I don't know why the audience support the singer even when it's obvious they suck! And so many contestants are arrogant when they refuse criticism and are in denail about being less than adequate. Young people in America nowadays grow up with this false sense of entitlement.. thinking that they are so special infallible. Parent's are telling them "you're the best, you're so special, you can succeed in whatever you do as long as you believe". We need more people like Simon in the world to wake people up. All this drama, my friend, is why idol is such good entertainment. Without Simon, it would be a lot less.

Because there is nothing else on tv... and it's posed that an average joe off the street who could sing, could become a super star. So it's nice to see someone from some small town make it far or win the show. However I'm not a fan of the show anymore, it's fixed, I can't stand Seacrest, and it irritates me that other shows that I like to watch are moving around Idol, because they can't compete.

In response to the person who said "they have no life"- Maybe they have too much of a life, and AI is a complete no brainer at the end of a long thought provoking day.

I totally agree with Jayson about Seacrest. His phony bickering with Simon is getting old. We all know they are buddies when the camera isn't on.

cause they get caught up in the drama and the hype. or maybe cause they like seeing two-bit wannabees get insulted by a two-bit producer? insults with an english accent just sounds waaay better.
or maybe cause they've got nothing better to do with their lives

i can tell u the reason y i watch it. i watch wen they first pick the contest that will go to hollywood, after that i neva turn it on again. the first few epsiodes r hella funny. other then that i can't stand the show!!!
