You can get a download manager.
They help speed up the download by opening more connections instead of the normal one connection by internet explorer.

My favorite one is Internet Download Manager.

You can go www.download.com to get it.

You probably need to do a disk clean up and disk defragmenter. This may take a while, but it's worth it.

1. Close out of all programs (even the little ones at the bottom right hand of your comp.)

2. Go to start.

3. Go to all programs.

4. Go to accessories.

5. Go to system tools.

6. Go to disk cleanup.

Once your computer is finished with disk cleanup; a screen will pop up and say these files can safely be removed from your comp. Click Ok.

Repeat steps 1-5.

7. Go to disk defragmenter.

8. Wait, let the computer clean up and when it's done, it should be running faster!

If not, try going to your control panel and deleting unnecessary programs under your add/remove programs icon.

This is like giving your computer room to breathe.
