in hip-hop how are bars counted?

i got verses completed but i dont know how to count the bars

Each syllable of a word would count as a 16th note (at least that's how I hear it, in my mind). Most of the hip-hop songs follow a pattern similar to [measure](sixteenths)1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4, quarter note [end of measure].

As for the measure count -- I would have to listen to some songs in more detail, but it's either going to be 8-bar rock, or 12-bar R&B.

just like in regular music, not that hip hop isn't music, but you know what I mean, in written music there are 4 beats to a bar. unless you've written a hip hop waltz, then there would be 3 beats.
