Ask her, what's up with the comments? If they offend you, let her know that she was a bit harsh or out of line. If she didn't mean it she'll stop or be more careful with what she says around people and one on one.
My best friend & I work together and go to the same church. She tells it to me straight (in private) but I'm the big mouth and tend to joke around out loud because I'm comfortable with everyoone there. I have apologized to her and told her that it's just that I'm comfortable to say anything to her. I noticed that me and my sisters are like that when we get together ( in a good way). I guess it's just habit when someone feels like family. Have you ever noticed how she talks to her siblings or family when they are together? If she doesn't joke and act like that with them, ask her, " You like to make fun of me ,dont you? Why?" or " Yew, that was harsh!, what was that for?"
She's gotta open up. See what she tells you. If she gets offended, then maybe there is something else going on or she's trying to cover up and avoid her own feelings by making jokes of you/others. That's what I've done to screen my own hurts from everyone.
Just ask? Take it from a best friend who makes fun of her best friend (but learning to control it, with her friends help =)

it depends what she is making fun of and why....no...it doesnt matter waht the circumstance, friends should never hurt each others feelings whether it is meant to all fun and games or wether she is serious. I would find out what her issue is though because there must be a reason why all of a sudden she is making fun of you. But write her a letter, email text soemthing and find out what is bugging her and let her know that you dont appreciate it because she will never know waht is one your mind unless you tell her adn if she is a true friend she wont mind you coming out adn asking her because friends try to get through things, no matter waht the issues

you can make fun of them back, you can just deal with it or, you can tell them that if they want to make fun of you that they can go and get a different friend.

Best friends, especially girls, have a tendancy to do this..........usually in front of others to make themselves seem 'cool'. It makes them look like idiots. I would take her aside and talk to her - tell her how it makes you feel. And if she continues to do it, drop her like a bad habit. A true friend defends you and has your back - she's not supposed to be stabbing you in it.

I would ask them why they are making fun of you. Tell them that they are hurting your feelings. Ask them if they want to remain friends with you, that it will have to stop.
