Because you live here. However, you do have say in things. This is done by voting. You vote for the candidate that best represents your views. You can also write your elected officials and let them know what you think or write a letter to the editor of your newspaper. At the local level, city council meetings are generally open to the public and there is usually an opportunity to bring new business to the floor. If you do this, I would highly recommend instead of ranting that you would bring statistics or facts that support what you think and a possible solution to a problem.

1) the bureaucracy is not accountable to anyone and the bureaucracy really runs almost everything. Legislatures pass laws, but the bureaucracy implements and enforces them how it chooses.
2) We have collectively assented to the notion that judges get the final say in everything. So if a state or federal legislature passes a law the judges don't like, too bad, the judges win. There was a case a decade or so back where the U.S. Supreme Court threw out a Colorado ballot initiative that was legal by state and federal law, but the majority of the court didn't like. I believe the majority opinion called the initiative mean spirited or something like that and I believe it was Scalia in the dissent who furiously said that the majority didn't even bother to pretend to have a Constitutional reason for throwing out the ballot initiative.

BC ppl dont write enough to the government and some things can not be changed bc of our enemies. IF u have a problem with the government write and write and bug the **** out of them until hey do something about it. And get many many many ppl to do it with you. Then maybe if someone does this then the government might listen to us. PPL are lazy and they dont do this so the government does what it wants bc everyone complains but does nothing about it.
PS THERE IS VOTING TOO that is your "say" too.
good luck

Because the Supreme Court selected the moron that is running the country. To say our vote is our voice......please. The last two elections have been dubious at best. We have "the decider" in power and he will listen to no one. He is perhaps the most inflexible president ever in the USA. He has forgotten that he is there to serve the people.

Did you vote? If not, you are enabling the government to do what it does. If you did, I hope you also wrote to your representative, letters to the editor, demonstrated for causes you believe in, and worked for the campaigns of representatives you support, both locally and nationally. We do have a say. Democracy is slow. You have to be both patient and active.

After the age 18, you have alot of say. It's called participating in the elections, both local and national. Read your newspaper and make informed decisions on the issues and the politicians that vote in the House, Senate and hold other offices.

Because disagreeing with your government, is treason. Unless, of course, there is a Democrat in the WH. Then, disagreeing is Patriotic. Watch more FOX News. They have all the answers on there.

We vote, we lobby, we do what needs to be done to get our opinion heard. And ultimately the Government does what they think is right regardless of what the people think is in their best interest. We got a new Congress now we need a new President so we can handle the problems that need to be handled.

We put up with them by our ignorance.
Our ignorance of the Constitution, our ignorance of what our public officials really stand for and our ignorance of our rights.
We AID their stupidity by voting for politicians that promise to give us things that neither belong to us or the politicians that promise them as bribes for our votes (prescription drugs, "free" healthcare, welfare, etc).
If you want to make change, you can always move to New Hampshire with the Free State Project (www.FreeStateProject.org).

because unfortunately the majority of the people in this country are ignorant or don't care, and we all know its the majority vote that builds our government.
Unless of course your name is George Bush, then a minority vote will do
Hey maybe that makes all if us ignorant ?
