zip up leather boots make my feet sweat like crazy. i've tried with socks, with stockings, without socks, and my feet just get all slippery in them. it's kinda gross. Yeah, it bothers me, because they rub blisters. And the smelliest shoes I have is this wonderful pair of black skate shoes that are comfortable but make my feet smell like i walked through a pile of wet dogs. yuck. lol :)

Leather shoes make my feet sweaty and smelly but you have to know wjhat to put in your shoes. Such as: baby powder

Shoes made of synthetic or cloth materials. Yes it bothers me. If I can smell my shoes from a standing position, then others can too. I will not buy any shoes that are not leather.

Cheep, crappy, and man made material shoes.
They are awful and ugly to boot.
Real leather stretches, breathes, and wears well. Therefore does not hold in nasty foot oder and dampness from sweat.
So, yes it does matter.
I will not wear shoes that are not made entirely of leather- including the soles.

any kind you wear without socks will make your feet smell. leather ones as well tend to cause sweat and smell.
it used to bother me but once i figured out the problem it no longer is a bother to me.

close toe shoes from payless, yes it bothers me so i try not to buy any from there :)
