Recently went to the doctor and had my TSH levels tested. My tsh level was 0.56. While this number is in the normal level, is it the high end or low end. Which is this number closer to, hyper or hypo?

also he tested my fsh level and it was 3.7. where does this fit in the perimenopause/menopause scale?

any help would be appreciated! I just don't understand why I have normal levels, but have so many symptoms.

thanks............

you are on the low end of normal. this is what a doc taught me about tsh and hypothyroidism. you actually look for an elevated tsh to indicate hypothyroidism. the demand for thyroxine causes the elevation of the thyroid stimulating hormone, so yours in not indicative of that.

a normal FSH is 3-20mg/dl. you are on the low end of normal there as well. go to earlymenopause.com and read this very informative website.

My tsh level was 0.56
As of early 2006, at most laboratories in the U.S., the official "normal" Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) blood test range runs from approximately .5 to 5.0.

fsh level and it was 3.7
Interpreting Levels of Follicle Stimulating Hormone
Your health care provider will look for a number of things when examining the results of your FSH test. She will first compare your FSH levels to normal baseline results in most women. A normal FSH level is usually under 10, whereas an abnormal level is anything above 25. Measurements between 10 and 25 are generally considered borderline.

I'm not sure of the ranges but seems you are low normal on both from other posts. This means there is probably something going on with your pituitary, and you may be hypopit. So make sure they do other tests for pituitary function, like IGF1, ACTH and morning cortisol.

the conventional TSH is .5 to 4.5. Yours if .210 meaning it truly is low. The TSH factor is the Thyroid Stimulating Hormone. if you're low the TSH is going extreme, way above 5.0 in case you extreme in thyroid your TSH is on the low section. you've Hyperthyroid. Hyper is the medical time period for prime, hypo is for low. Tapazole is a medication that makes the thyroid gland secrete a lot less thyroid homone. because your present day factor of TSH is 7.60 perhaps you want to have the dose of Tapazole adjusted because you at the on the spot are somewhat low on thyroid that could make you sense drained. at the same time as docs deal with the thryoid gland it truly is an quite comfortable gland and standard ameliorations might want to be made to get the right dose for you. perhaps you would possibly want to call you physician back and note what he says.
