I am actually shocked that this information is released by our own military but here's the report by General Pace:

I am confused about what you are trying to assert. I assume you are attempting to project that the U.S. military is somehow hamstrung because of our number of troops involved in Iraq. If that is the case, you should go back to read the article again.

General Pace has made no assertion regarding a lack of U.S. military preparedness and certainly didn't in the article you reference. The individuals making such claims are "un-named" defense department spokespersons who could not elaborate because the information is "classified". That means that it could have been the head janitor at the pentagon.

The libs (which I assume you are among) are desparately trying to make it appear that Pace said something that he did not say, nor infer. Just as you have done with your question, libs want to give out enough eroneous information that it draws the reader to the conclusion that Bush is ignoring his advisors. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

From the beginning, Bush has firmly stated that the war was being directed by the Generals involved in the conflict. General Pace, as CJS, is one of those very Generals to whom Bush defers. Any other conclusion shows a willingness of liberals to distort facts in evidence and, if necessary, even to lie if it fits their purpose. The end justifies the means? Liberals should grow up. For God's sake people! Don't any of you understand we are at war with a people who want to destroy us? How long will liberals cast off truth just to regain power and prestige? Is it worth risking our country and the lives of our families, just to get a democrat / socialist in the White House????

And what sterling qualifications does Hillary or Obama have that will allow them to make better decisions involving military tactics? Neither has served in any military capacity. They don't even have the experience or training of a buck private in the Army. Grow up people.

Well, it is common knowledge that our military is stretched thin. This is a result of Rumsfeld's smaller, more focused military plan... Which he then failed to help them acheive that.

As to when Bush will finally listen, I predict that will happen right after we win in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Iran... i.e. never. Bush et al believe it's the military's job to follow orders without question.

Why should he listen to his military leaders he is commander-in-chief. He's the decider who doesn't have to listen to anybody he doesn't want to. He said it himself that he's the decider and he'll make any decision needed. What is nice about being President is that he can choose to listen or not.

Bush will listen to those military leaders that agree with him and ignore the rest.

Actually he is listening. He just isn't doing what the ones YOU want him to listen to say should be done.

There are so many opinions on what should be done. It's like global warming. Some say it isn't happening, some say it is, and we need to do something about it, some say we can't do anything about it. Me I say it is happening and what we do won't matter, Mother Nature will handle it herself in the end.

He'll listen to them when he's found some who say what he wants to hear, and not before.
