We started as at&t customers then they switched to cingular. when that happened we were not in a contract anymore. We decided to keep cingular because of their coverage in our area and started a new two year contract. That was about a year ago. Now that they are switching back to at&t will we be out of our contract again?

You should call them and ask. All they're doing this time is changing the name. They aren't changing networks this time, so I think you will still be under contract. Call their customer service and ask them.

You beat me to an answer Daniel, lol.

I am a cingular dealer. To clear up any problems. You are still under contract, you will be under contract until two years from the last time that you got new phones. Also the new AT&T will not be making anybody switch there contracts in any way. Really they might even offer some extra incentives to keep the current customers, I am really hoping the offer free nights and weekends starting at 7pm here real soon.

I hope not because I am a Cingular customer but I don't think so. AT&T bought Cingular and Bellsouth and they are taking on a huge amount of customers between those companies. Hopefully this will be a very smooth transition for both parties and none of the EXISTING customers will have to change contracts. If they do decide to have their existing customers change contracts and whatnot there will be alot of unhappy people who might switch companies. So, let's cross our fingers!
