Like If I wanted to be the director of a film and I wanted to have a co-director work with me on the film as well, can that be done?

It is very unusual. Usually two (or more) directors means one (or more) of them got fired. There are husband and wife teams where one focuses on actors and the other focuses on setting, etc. More common are partnerships in producing where one of the people is also the director. Producing is the overall management of the film while directing is the artistic control.

yeah sure.... directing is not a process where one controls the entire crew, but manages the crew to his ways as to how he wants the entire project to be worked out to the final effect... so, directors can be one, or one + one..... that depends on the mental caliber of the two in acknowledging their aesthetic qualities and the mental potential to work out a project... it suceeds sometimes, and fails sometimes.... we are all human, that's the fact..
