I am looking for a game for the computer that lets you hatch, raise and ride dragons while interacting with other characters. Anyone find anything like that?

once you get far enogh in, this game will let you do all of those things.
however, it is hard to get to that high a level.

In the MMORPG called Horizons you can create a character with a race of Dragon. They have a different set of skills and requirements than other races. You start off as a young dragon and as you advance and collect more into your Hoard you are able to eventually go on a quest that I think is called the Rite of Passage. If you complete it, you will become an Adult Dragon with a stronger breath weapon and the ability to fly. I think eventually you are able to go on another quest to become a Mature Dragon, with further benefits, but I'm not sure.

I am not sure about hatching and riding dragons...
there are a couple of hatching and raising monsters...
monster rancher 1 and 2
another couple that is of riding dragons
drakengard 1 and 2

Eregon, the game has what you are looking for. Though since it's movie based, chances are it's ponderous and hard to play.
There is also something out there called eye of the dragon, where you play as the dragon, flying over the landscape and fighting armies of archers.

well i dont know about all that but fighting a dragon is in several...
"Dragon's Lair 3D" is fun
