Clarkson is more accomplished.
Although Hudson has an Oscar, tell me what else she has done. Clarkson has multiple albums that have sold millions, #1 Hits on multiple charts, and Grammy awards to get out of the idol shadow.
Even with the Oscar, Hudson is still known as the American Idol contestant that won an Oscar, Clarkson is still known as the first Idol winner (not soomething Hudson could do) but more people know her for her music than anything else.

Hands down, Kelly Clarkson. Yeah JHud won an oscar and she has an AMAZING voice, but what else has she really done?
Kelly has had multiple number 1 hits, multiple awards, and 2 grammys. Kelly is the best Idol to ever come off the show. That girl is flawless. She is an amazing singer. Listen to "The Trouble With Love Is" and you tell me she can't sing. This girl is amazing. She's gonna be around for a lot longer and she's got another album coming. This is gonna be AWESOME.

Jennifer Hudson, hands down. The girl can sing. I've never been that impressed with Kelly's voice. I think that the talent pool has gotten progressively better each year on idol as it has established itself as a legitimate vessel for great singers to start a successful career. I really don't think that if Kelly Clarkson came into the competition this year, she would have a shot at winning again.

I think that Jennifer Hudson is the most accomplished, she is in a movie receiving a bunch of awards. Even tho she didnt win I still think she is the best singer from american idol.

Kelly Clarkson. And painintheass, if you don't know where Clarkson is today, you must never listen to the radio or watch tv. It's like Steve said. Kelly has songs currently being played, she's toured all over, she's on her 2nd or 3rd album, I forget.

Jennifer Hudson without a doubt! she has won more awards in her first year out then Kelly in her 4,5 yrs...or so! Hudson just caught a lucky break. i don't follow neither of them, but Hudson name is all over.
