Yes, all PS1 games will work in a PS2 (but you can only SAVE PS1 games to PS1 memory cards....they fit in the same slot the PS2 memory cards fit into)

The Playstation 2 CAN play Playstation 1 games. You do have to use a Playstation 1 memory card to SAVE though. You of course can't put PS2 games into the original Playstation though.

Actually yes you can play any playstation 1 game on the playstation 2. I know because i own a playstation 2 and play all of my old favorite games from the playstation 1 on it all the time. Works perfect!

I know Playstation 1 games are supposed to work on the Playstation 2, but I've never tried it myself.

Yes, the Playstation 2 (PS2) will work with PS1 games. The unit's backwards compatibility, or the ability to play games from the older system, was one of the PS2's largest selling points at the time of its initial release.

You can play any PS1 game on the PS2 but you can not play any PS2 games on the PS1. But with the new PS3 I have heard only the popular games from the PS2 & 1 will work. I know they said that all of the past games from both systems would work but they don't.

Sure can, you just can't play ps2 games on the regular playstation.

Yes I tried when I first bought it and it worked, but I can't save the game to PS2 memory card, I don't know why.

the older ps 2 can play most ps 1 games...i noticed that some of the graphics of ps 1 looks pretty crappy since ps 2's video resolution is higher and smaller.
when i say older ps 2, i meant the fatter one, not the thinner one that came out later.

yes I do it all the time but as long as you have the ps1 card in the ps2 game you be able to save.
