And if so, why?

No, kids aren't growing up faster, the world's morals are going down faster!

Kids today are allowed to see and do things that even just a generation ago, we were not able to see and do. Parents have gotten slack because the worldly environment has gotten slack. Children need discipline and guidance like they did way back in Bible times. But now, people act like it's a sin or child abuse to "use the rod" with their children.

So, again, I say no. Kids haven't been growing up faster unless their parents allow them to experience things earlier in life.

Hope this helped ya.
....and that was a great question! Star ♥

Yes, kids are growing faster these days because there are so maony things for them to see how things really are. There is the Internet, there is newspapers that teachers bring in for their students to read. There are the news and radio stations and simply, word of mouth. I mean, a kid can hear a lot of things just by listening. I mean, they can hear adults talking like their parents, teachers, grandparents or just anywhere. I mean, there are so many ways kids can get info. And kids are smart. Try to fool a kid, that is not a good thing because they no just as much-or even more-thent he adults do. They want to know what is going on around them. Things affect children as well as adults because these kids are going to be adults, too, so, why not know as a child about the conflicts of war, marriage, abortions, crimes of all types?
I would rather have a smart, educated kid that reads a newspaper or at least comprehends about what is going on in their world(while still maintaining being a kid) then have a child that does not know nothing at all, making him seem ignorant.

I would say that they are being exposed to issues that are too old for them, such as sex, drugs, achohl and the like. However most kids don't grow up in the sense of maturity. Infact I belive that they are less mature then they would have been in the past. They also seem to be unable to properly distinguish right from wrong as well as kids were years ago. So while they are faced with adult situations and cercomstances they aren't really growing up in the sense of maturity...this coming form a 15 year old may be hipocritical but thats my oppionion

They are growing up faster INTELLECTUALLY, maybe due to better nutrition on the mothers part during pregnancy, or too many tv advertisements, tv shows, etc. that the child may watch and learn. Children learn what surrounds them, so the more they have, the faster they learn. Or maybe it is just a natural selection of our evolution......

yes. so much more. i mean im 16 and i can tell from comparing myself both to my parents, my sister (who's 22) and girls in my school that are younger. i remember that when i was 12, i would maybe sometimes wear a bit of lip gloss. these girls wear full-on eye makeup and blush - to school. not to speak of their d&g belts and their only conversation topic - guys (what a surprise). when my sister was 12, she knew HALF of the stuff about sex that eight-year-olds know now.
access to information is a wonderful yet also very dangerous thing in society. kids shouldnt be forced to mature earlier than needed to. everybody needs a childhood, and growing up too fast is losing that.

No
It just more stuff for them to get it to those day and most parents don't care just as long as they stay out of their hair.

We need to go back to old school rising these kids.
