Jesus dying on the cross for me, you and everyone

I think that people value their family relationships at Easter. It's a spiritual day to be sure, and the Easter Canatas and worship services are something that most Christians would not miss. But it's also a time to be with family, to enjoy the younger chidren and their joy at Easter baskets, to celebrate the rebirth of all growing things in the spring, and to gather as a family to be together and realize how important you all are to each other.

Unfortunately consumerism has taken over not only Easter but every other religious celebration.
It's all about Easter eggs, me, me, me, mentality, what's in it for me.
And of course lets not forget the big one `MONEY`, Easter is seen as is all religious celebrations as a cash cow and all most, not all but most people see is a chance to make shed loads of money.
So instead of buying Easter eggs or wasting your money on a card, or flowers or anything else to do with Easter and filling some greedy persons bank account why don't you donate the money to a local UK charity that only helps those in the UK.
That way you will have helped make a big difference to someone elses life instead of helping make someone even more richer and greedier.
All the best,

People in general? Life. Personally? Togetherness & love.

When the Christians invaded Pagan lands they were ordered to incorporate their rituals rather than try to eliminate them. The term 'Easter' relates to the biological term 'oestrous' referring to the cycle of production of eggs - and thus fertility. In the Northern hemisphere, the more developed of the two, Easter is in the Spring - and this is the time of 'renewal' or 're-birth' of life itself. It is because of this that we celebrate this time with eggs; albeit (usually) chocolate ones.

Hence the assertion that people in general value life at Easter.

My own personal opinions are not the sort of thing I'd like to go into here, but togetherness & love are two aspects of life which make life itself worth enjoying.

Happy Easter to all!

Sadly many value sacrifice, when the will of God says "I will have mercy, and not sacrifice" and the "not" part is not then, not now, not ever: Ps 40:6; 51:16; Hos 6:6; Mt 9:13; Heb 10, which also mentions do the will of God precedes receive the promise.

Most people value their egos; thus, Easter has lost its meaning, which is the celebration of the resurrection.

easter is the pagan festival of fertility and reproduction hence the eggs and bunnys etc in the guise of a religious holiday of the death of christ unfortunately most people are too taken with chocolate to give a damn about the true way or date that christ died.

Chocloate and video games for their new systems, apparently.
When Easter became the next Christmas I'll never know, but it's gross.

For me it has always been the overall fun that can be had. Of course, there is the Christ rising thing, but I think Jesus would want us to have a bit of fun as well.
