aactualy i have one 256 mb ddr2 sd ram .now i wana upgrade with the new 1 GB ddr2 sd ram .
please tel me that.should i also use my older 256 ddr2 sd ram with my new 1 GB ddr2 sd ram together.....or i should use only 1 GB ddr2 sd ram with my system.please guide me.............
as i have core 2 duo e6300 intel processor,intel d946gzis motherboard and 80 gb sata hard disc.................

Well, since you will not be running it in dual channel mode, go ahead and use the 1gig and the 256 stick together. It won't help much, but it won't hurt it at all.

no longer undesirable! could desire to be an all around stable gadget. and not too undesirable on the gamin' end the two, aside from Vista. yet later Vista would be a boon, as extra, an extra video games are written for Vista. i could advantageous stumble on a thank you to partition a sort of harddrives, and use WinXP for a OS precise now, till the Vista insects are labored out.

Your RAM performance will only perform at the WORST specs of the worst stick.
I recommend at least 1GB, better would be 2GB. Depending on the limits of your MB of course.

Dont use both cos it ma give problem which may not affect the system majorily, but has a minor effect.. its good tat u go with the 1Gb RAM itself.. that'll be fine :)

if there will be one slot then put 1GB Ram and sell that 256 MB Ram..... if u got 2 slot put that 256MB and 1GB Ram and enjoy...... see the source how to upgrade you memory on laptop
