up to 6 weeks or more when ever your body decides its done cleaning you out. The bleeding is a cleansing to get your uterus in shape and ready for more babies. If your uterus kept alot of junk inside and you had lots of tissues when you were pregnant you will likely bleed longer and heavier than other women. My oldest sister only bled for 4 weeks after each son, but my other sister bled for 8 weeks after her daughter. I was 6 weeks on the dot

About 6 weeks. If it is acting like it wants to stop. Then spend a few days resting a lot. Try not to walk around too much and avoid lifting everything but the baby. It might be enough to get it to stop. When it does stop, rest for two more days or it will come back.

Why don't people tell you this before you have a baby? I was mortified when I found out. With my first I bled for 6 weeks and after my second it was much shorter like 2 weeks and not nearly as heavy. Hopefully yours will end soon!

Technically up to 56 days post partum any bleeding is considered lochia, but generally women bleed much less 2-4 weeks maybe. However if you notice it seems to be almost done, and then gets heavier that is usually a sign you are pushing yourself too hard.

Also it shouldn't be mucousy.

The same happend to me after I had my daughter, it lasted abt 6 weeks for me but it depends on the person. Your body is healing itself after carrying another human being inside of it for those 9 months that you've carried your baby. Relax and just enjoy your baby, the pain will ease and the bleeding will stop after abt 6 weeks. Your uterus is just shrinking back to its original size.
If it ends up coming out in big clots, contact your doctor and let them know. Good Luck!

Up to 6 weeks :( Mine also did that, acting like its going to stop, then came back the next day full force. Its unpredictable. You only are 10 days PP, I bled both times for 2 weeks, so hopefully youll end soon, good luck!

Mine was about 5 1/2 weeks with both my kids.

Remember: if you have very heavy bleeding (more than 1 pad per hour) or large clots you need to contact your doctor.
