Planning a trip with an Indian friend of mine is near impossible if the trip is more than 2 weeks away. And it's no different with other Indians I know. There's a tendency to wait till the last minute to do things. Major transcontinental vacations are arranged just days before departure. I'm big on planning and doing research, so it's incredibly frustrating to get noncommital responses for major events.

And it's not like they have pressing issues that they have to settle before they can make plans.

not all..my west indian friend is very meticulous when it comes to any kind of planning....
