By far I think your best bet is Cancun (I dove there many times) there are quite a few reefs 10-15 minutes off the shore by speed boat. You are very close to Cozumel too, which is a great place and within 45-60 miles of great cave diving in Xpuha and Xcaret which are phonomenal. Party is great and it is really not expensive, I would recommend to check online travel agencies for packages, it's a deal. If you don't want to spend a lot of money in accommodations look for Hotel Aristos, Calinda or Tucancun which are nice and in great locations (been there)Other options are:belize and a small place in Honduras called Roatan (awesome) both places have pretty much what you are looking for. Good Luck!!

i've got been diving off the beaches of Belize in proper u.s.. they have a barrier reef there and there are cayes that dive boats can take you to. those are beautiful reefs the place there are super colourful corals, many forms of tropical fish, and sponges, sea turtles, manta, eagle and sting rays, etc. It became so lots extra fee-effective than going all a thank you to Australia, and Belize is seen to be an particularly super place to dive. I stayed on the island of Ambergris Caye, the barrier reef became in basic terms off shore there, I sometimes chosen to do evening dives and day dives there. yet, my superb day of diving became whilst the dive boat took us out to 0.5 Moon Caye and we dove between colourful corals and sponges and fish. Then we boated out to the super Blue hollow, that's a super vertical underwater cave with super stalagmites and stalactites underwater, you are able to swim around those and look down below and notice sharks (we observed 8 sharks!), and up on the brink of the exterior is a coral reef with colourful fish, then I undergo in strategies yet another caye we went to and hiked element of the island and observed many pink footed boobies (birds), and frigate birds. All in all super relaxing! by potential of how, Ambergris Caye became a stunning dive vacationer spot, very friendly. The mainland of Belize, i've got heard, isn't almost as stunning for vacationers.

If you are into shipwreck diving - check out Tobermory, Ontario, Canada - Known as the graveyard of shipwrecks with over 20 historical wrecks to see. Plus you can go cave diving and see other things. Here is a link to check out what is in the area.

I have to agree with Belize. People there speak English and there is an underwater reef second to the Great Barrier Reef, topless beaches.
