Hi, I am facing a big proplem with a receptionist of a community H.C. Centre.Last week i was too sick & i called there for an appoinment with my Family doc but that lady was behaving with me like i was lieing & hold me on phone for 20 mins,asking me lots of things like she is the doc. Before also she did like thatbut i didn't care.Today she called me to tell mr that she cannot keep my todays appointment with my doc& i ask her to give me anather appointment.She asnwered why you didnot tell this proplem last day when you came to see the doc!! I was surprised.She all the time asking me what/why& she has no manner.
One more thing is that i follow when i go to see the doc & i tell the receptionist Hi i have an appointment or something like that She behave like i am begging somthing from her.but when a white (never mind)lady/guy go she is too good to them.Is it becoz i am an Indian?I wanna complain against that lady ,I have to .
If any body know where to complain please lat me know.

Madame... you have the following options... 1st you can complain to the doctor; 2ND you can call the Ontario Ministry of Labour or the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and lodge a complaint; 3rd if you feel that you were being discriminated against because of your ethnic background, contact the Ontario Human Right Branch and lodge a complaint; Finally, there is a new website I came across the other day you may want to check out it's call www.mycomplaint.ca

I would complain directly to your doctor about his receptionist's manner and how she treats people on the phone.

The doctors at the clinic probably have a list of questions that they require the receptionist to ask but she doesn't have to be rude about it.

Other than that you can't do much. You should be extra nice to her perhaps, it's called killing them with kindness and I doubt if it's because you're of another race. She's probably rude to everyone not just you.

Don't go looking for problems and yelling racism all the time , because it's like the boy who cried wolf all the time. When there really was a wolf, no one would believe him.

She's just a rude lady, don't play the racism card, it won't help in the long run.

The best place to start is by telling your doctor! He/she needs to know how patients are being treated by his front office staff. Did she give you a reason for cancelling your appointment at the last minute? Be sure to mention that to your doctor as well. It sounds to me like she is very insecure, but that is no reason to be rude to anyone, much less someone who is sick.

I've often encountered this problem! Why don't you talk to the doctor about it! You'd probably be doing him (or her) a favor- that receptionist might be driving patients away!

PS: I've found that when people are rude, it usually cuts across all racial lines. So try not to take it personally- she's not worth worrying about!

Maybe if you go on the 'net you can find out the name of the director of this facility. Explain to him everything thing that happened and of how upset you are. (I always go to the top when there is a problem because this way, your complaint won't get shuffled around from one person to another.) Good luck!
