how do i get my computer to just start without having to log on?

i took it in to get a virus removed and now it wants me to log on everytime i turn my laptop on. how do i set it up to just start without loging on and picking user.

i have window XP
and by the way should i get windows vista. or do i not need it

Go to users accounts in the control panel and click on the advanced tab. It is at the bottom.
