Jesus rose from the dead!

2007-02-28 04:37:48 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 1 0

Christians believe that Jesus rose from the dead thus becoming the Ressurected Christ. This day is known as Easter in Chrisendom. Before Jesus came back from the dead, he was just another prophet..it was His rising from the dead that makes Him Christ, God, God's Son, The fufillment of the prophesies that proclaim Jesus is the Messiah.

For non-Christians..it's a day the Easter Bunny brings treats (usually colored eggs and chocolates) to all the good girls and boys. Other holiday rituals might include an easter egg hunt which some belive is linked to the:
EASTER ISLANDS:
In the cult of the birdman (Rapanui: tangata manu), a competition was established in which every year a representative of each clan, chosen by the leaders, would dive into the sea and swim across shark-infested waters to Motu Nui, a nearby islet, to search for the season's first egg laid by a manutara (sooty tern). The first swimmer to return with an egg would be named "Birdman of the year" and secure control over distribution of the island's resources for his clan for the year. The tradition was still in existence at the time of first contact by Europeans. It ended in 1867.

For religious as noted, Jesus rose from the dead. For the many with or without religious things, it is the Easter Bunny.
I always felt sorry for the thought of a poor little bunny having those large eggs to carry round.

My how we will believe such things when young and older for that matter.

I am out to catch him this year and attempt to find out the secret. How DOES a rabbit carry the great baskets and still get home to the hutch in time for his own celebration... I must find out...
I must..
I must...

Easter is the celebration of the day that Jesus conquered death and after spending 3 days in the grave, returned to Earth.

I believe that I get a lot of chocolate because of a bunny and a fairy story about a nice man who died and then came back.

People believe that Jesus rose from the dead because he was crucified on Good Friday.
