I was told by my doctor to buy a multi vitamin from the drug store. He warned me of buying expensive vitamins, your body can only use so much. The rest you flush down the toilet!

He's right - at least about regular solid vitamins. The body can't break them down and absorb them well. Usually the body only absorbs somewhere around 10% of the vitamins you take in. But if you take it in liquid form, it is more like 90%.

So I'd recommend a good liquid multivitamin. The best one I've found BY FAR that has pretty much everything you could need in your diet is To Your Health. It has not just vitamins and minerals, but anti-oxidants as well as amino acids. Just started on it a few months ago and I really like it.

But heads up, it will turn your urine a little orangy color (body flushing out what it's not using I guess).

Most of the vitamins sold in stores are synthetic.Your body cannot use them and will excrete them as waste. Ever hear your doctor mentioning that you have expensive piss. What he is saying is that your body will reject the vitamins. centrum, one -a-day etc... are basically worthless.Your body can only recognize FOOD.So if the vitamins are not natural whole food vitamins you might as well throw your money away!
