First, I am 39 weeks today, and VERY ready to have my baby boy in my arms rather than on my bladder!!! Okay, on Monday night from about 11:30pm until 1:20 am I had contractions that ranged from about 12 minutes apart to about 5 minutes apart. Then, at 1:20, they just stopped. I know this is normal but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if so, how soon after did you deliver?

I also wanted to add... I have had some cramping and stuff before that I think are the Braxton Hicks but this was in my back (the midwife said my baby is closer to my back) and they actually hurt... A couple of people said they are just beginning contractions and they said they went into labor within a week of this...

These are called BraxtonHicks contractions. They are a normal part of the process that gets you ready to deliver. There is no time table as to when you will deliver after these start. Some people get them early in the thrid trimester, as early as 6-7 months. Don't get discouraged, you will deliver when ready. No one knows for sure what triggers labor but nature does so just relax and get some rest. You won't get any after the baby is born. Good Luck MOM.
