There´s a ham because Scout dressed up as a ham for a school play. When she and her brother Jem were walking home she was still wearing her costume because she forgot where she placed her clothes. That´s when they were attacked by the mean drunk what´s-his -name.

Wonderful movie, one of the best ever.
The answer to your first question: Who put the gum and small objects in the tree: Boo Radley. He was trying to make friends with Scout and Jem.
I don't remember what they did with the tire swing, I'd have to read it again.

Yes, I've seen it, but it has been so long ago I don't remember the things you are asking about. I do remember Boo Radley, and actually used to have a Boo Radley who lived in my neighborhood. (Never came out in the daytime....etc.) Love the movie AND the book.
