Fascinating guy, really. He was for gay marriage when he ran for Senate (said he'd do more for gay and lesbian issues is MA than Sen. Kennedy, his opponent), but is now against it. He was also Pro-Choice when he ran for Governor, but is now Pro-Life.
He did serve a good two years as gov of Massachusetts, though. Normally it's a four year term, but after 2 years he started running for President. Seriously, nobody in Boston ever saw him for his last 2 years in office, though he did appear on several national talk shows.
And he didn't so much do "good things" as cut the budget. He did this by raising tuition at state schools, slashing welfare and state healthcare programs, that sort of thing. So if you've got a lot of money, I guess you could say he did a lot of good things.

To me, Mitt Romney is all about Mitt Romney. Less than three years ago the man was pro-choice and gay friendly. Now he's done a 180 on both subjects. He knew he had to in order to seriously vie for President. I know I can't trust someone like that, and it's going to be a continuing problem for him as his campaign unfolds. Talk about a flip-flopper! The conservatives LOVED that phrase in 2004, are they using it now about Romney? No, and I find that pretty interesting and the word "hypocrisy" keeps popping up when I think about it.

It makes no difference, the fundie south won't support a mormon anyway. No fundie votes, no win in 08.
