i play warcraft and alot of people have bots and it will say " hello ____ your ping is 65.

Ping is a basic Internet program that allows a user to verify that a particular IP address exists and can accept requests.
Ping is used diagnostically to ensure that a host computer you are trying to reach is actually operating. If, for example, a user can't ping a host, then the user will be unable to use the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) to send files to that host. Ping can also be used with a host that is operating to see how long it takes to get a response back.
Loosely, ping means "to get the attention of" or "to check for the presence of" another party online. I haven't played WOW but it looks like those bots are showing you the rate to get a response back.

Your ping is how long it takes for your actions to register in the game. A ping of 1000 means that it takes 1 second from the time you click the mouse button until the action actually happens on the screen. A smaller ping means that your actions are registering with the game server and being returned to your computer faster. With that ping everything you see is actually 1 second old already....which doesnt sound like alot but in online gaming ...a second is life and death stuff.

The lower the ping number the faster the connection between you and that person. If the ping is too big, there will be a bigger lag in time between when you send or receive a message between the two sites.

It means how fast your internet connection is. If your ping is low you might have a lag in your game.

It is your latency. see the bar by your bags thats where you can see it. The colors shown on the bar also let you know how good or bad your latency is. Green is good, yellow and red which is bad.
