My fiance and I are moving to France. I was wondering if there is somewhere I can search for jobs in France. Also, is there a way to get a work permit before going to France? I don't know if I want to go to France, find a job, come back, get a work permit, than go back to France; I would like to know if there is some way I can avoid that.

Try the ANPE (Agence Nationale pour l'Emploi) website:

It is the best resource to find work in France. The job market is tough but if you have the right qualifications for a particular position, you CAN find work (my friends have).
Good luck!

You're going to discover that finding a good job in Paris is a very difficult task.

The French economy is in very poor shape. Unemployment hovers just below 10% and unemployment amongst the young is more like 20%.

The French economy generated some 335,000 new jobs last year, about what the American economy did every month. With a job creation rate of 1/12 of the USA but a population that is 1/5, you can do the math. Job prospects are not good.

Moreover, unless you speak fluent French the types of (legitimate) jobs you can get are limited to things like teaching English as a second language.
