Japan was allied with Germany and Italy to form the Axis.
In 1945 the war we call world war 2 was in its last few months. Italy had been knocked out of the war, Germany will surrender in May and Japan will surrender in August of 1945 to end WW2 (the offical surrender document was signed on Sept. 2, 1945).
The Axis powers fought against the Allies......Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zeland, America, Russia, and the free French.
