i just gave mine a complex command while we were outside. i mentioned "go bye bye" (her fave thing) but qualified it with "house first!" she took the second command knowing "bye bye" was pending.
yesterday, i taught her to shake her head for yes or no, in under an hour.
your smart dog stories welcomed!

Well I have a siberian Huskey,
And when we JUST got her, not even a year old.
She trapped me, I was eating Pizza on my bed, and she jumped up to play. My pzza was still hot, so I got on the floor to play with her.
She crawled under the bed to the other side of the room. I followed he. Then When I got to the otherside of the room, she did the swoop again, and in a matter of milla seconds, she devoured my pizza.
That's a pretty elaborate plan for a 8 mo. old pup,

That's impressive!
What kind of dog do you have?
Guess it depends on the definition of "smart"...(I'm not being a smart***, I'm just saying there are different forms of smart) :-)
We had a male border collie years ago that would go with my dad to the asparagus patch... he'd go ahead of my dad and bite off and eat the young tender (the best) asparagus spears poking out of the soil... My dad could only laugh that the dog was so choosy.
Same dog always followed and watched everyone...he knew all the basic 'commands'...verbal and hand signals. He'd also help gather up chickens that got out (natural herding instinct) without killing them.
When my other dog died I was devastated...the male dog sat with me, offered his paw and rested his chin on my lap...either he was consoling me or sharing his grief...either way that showed an amazing intelligence to me. He was extra nice for about a week after our buddy's death.
He became fast friends with the matriarch cat at the farm, he was such a 'gentleman' with her... allowing her to go into places before him, letting her eat before him and making sure she was safe when there was some unfamiliar sounds around. (Seems like she was 'top dog' but he just was very fond of her.)
I guess I'd say that our dog had emotional intelligence. He listened & never got into trouble...we just weren't equipped to teach him tricks for the movies even though to us he would've been smart enough to do that.
Have fun teaching your dog more commands, she must be a very confident canine!

my dog is amazing! we had a police K-9 before him when my dad is a cop and this one is so much brighter. (both german shepherds)
He does this thing when you go up to a door with him, he uses one paw and hits the door once. He does this when you say "right paw" he'll use his paw (only once) and hit the door.
He learned sit in like 5 minutes.
He goes to our backyard no matter where we are on the property when we say yard. (8 acres) he knows where to go.
He doesn't pass the property line at all even when we go past the property line.
He's amazingly bright and has a cool personality. i love that dog. (Ezekiel, zeke for short)

Too smart for his own good that's for sure. When we say "Wanna go for a car ride?" he stands at the door for us to let him out. Once outside, he sits next to the truck waiting for us to leave. We have a white Ford F-150 which he obviously knows because the other day I let him outside and he immediately ran over to the neighbor's house. He was sitting inside the cab of the truck in the passenger's seat. My neighbor had company over in a white Ford F-150. They couldn't help but laugh. It was cute.

Dragon's dog is so smart, he is Psychic. Let Dragon explain:
Dragon says "Sit", and he sits. Then he puts his paw out fer "Shake" without even being told!!! Psychic!
It only took a couple hours to teach him to shake with his opposite paw too. And he figured out how to lift the toilet lid to get a drink, and put it back down too!! Super smart.
