Are you saying we have to civilize the savages? Are you implying this is another case of "white man's burden"?
I'm surprised the Yahoo police didn't yank your question. They can be so picky. You can call a spade a spade, but they will say you are "insulting" a group.
What is ironic is that the fundamentalist version of Islam is so tenaciously against anything modern. Everything is viewed as a corruption of pure Islam. Their societies are worse than just the analogy of a truck hopelessly mired in mud, which can never extricate itself without outside assistance. These societies are so fearful of change that they resist it an the expense of all logic and reason.
However, if women are ever going to start taking their rightful place in these countries, we'd better start digging that vehicle out of the deep mud.

What makes you think they need modernizing? If they weren't already modernized, we wouldn't have to go over and attack them as much as we're doing.
People that live on the Arabian peninsula aren't primitive and are a much larger group than Islamic fundamentalists.

Because the Arabs neither needed our help, nor even asked for it in the first place, smart guy. This has little to do with the "western world", as much as it has to do with US foreign policy. Plain and simple.

Because you can't modernize people who don't wish modernization. They consider our modern world corrupt and evil. You can't force people to change when they do not wish to do so. Though it is hypocritical indeed that they are more than willing to use modern weaponry and seek nuclear weapons. I doubt that they would see the irony of that, though.

They don't want modernization. And the ones who do want modernization they want it for reasons that would not be beneficial for the Western world.

because we are smart enought to realize that when the islams, nuslims,and aribs belive the world belongs to them and everyboby else should die just kinda fuks up the equasion. *** them sand monkeys and the oppressed religion. hitler wanted to rule the world and kill the jews, these sand monkies really are trying to not only kill the jews they want everyone dead. the world should come down on them like they did hitler and destroy the evil karan. we shouldnt give them nothing, notyhing at all except a funeral when they threten the world. moderize them for what ? so they can try to kill you for helping cause your not muslim.

They don't want to be modernized. Their Fundamentalist tendencies are a reaction against modernity. They want to retain their stone-age tribal mores, and resent anyone who tries to change them.
