A square root is a number that, if multiplied by itself, gives a particular value, such as 625. There are many ways to determine this number, but with whole numbers like these, the easiest is approximation, or trial and error.

20 * 20 = 400, so 20 is too low. 30 * 30 = 900, so 30 is too high. 25 * 25 = 625-- wait, that's it!

Remember that any negative number multiplied by a negative number gives a positive number, so -25 * -25 = 625. The two roots are +25 and -25, often expressed as "plus or minus 25".

I'll leave you the fun of finding the other two answers, but here's a couple of hints: #2 is between 10 and 20 (the squares of which are 100 and 400) and #3 is also between 20 and 30.

There are not 2 square roots, it will just be one. A sqaure root would be a number times itself.

25 X 25 = 625, therefore the squareroot of 625 is 25
17 X 17 = 289
22 X 22 = 484

25,17,22

the key is to look at the last digit and try to find out what number will result in that when it being times with itself

example 625
last digit is 5

what number will result in last digit of 5 when we multiply it?
1 x 1 = 1
2 x 2 = 4
3 x 3 = 9
4 x 4 = 16 ==> last digit is 6
5 x 5 = 25

got it?
then you just try it out

good luck

What I did:

1. go to google.com
2. type "sqrt(625)" inside the search field and hit "Enter".
3. google gives onle the positive square root 25.
4. But we know there are always two square roots of positivie real number, so 25 and -25 are two square roots of 625.
