They also say, no question is stupid question and when someone asks a stupid question, they think to themselves, "what a moron, that is the stupidest question anyone ever asked me" and pretend to be cool and ask the class not to laugh because it's not a stupid question?

1. It's a good question, because any question that does not have a straightforward, easy answer is, by implication, a challenging question. Most people enjoy a challenge, so it is good that the question is asked.

2. Sometimes we can naively ask questions that have a self-evident answer, or are obviously contradictory, and thus void. It is human to make mistakes, but it is unhelpful, unsympathetic and anti-social to mock the asker. This only creates an environment where questioning, and thus learning, is stifled. I know of a shy but intelligent student, who often had a worthy question to ask, but refrained from doing so for fear of derision.
