MySpace isn't taking over my life because I don't have a MySpace page. I did go the website a few weeks ago to find out some info about my favorite R&B artist Maxwell and to find some info on former classmates. I couldn't find anything on my classmates. I graduated in 1997. All the people that kept popping up were people that my brother and sister went to school with. They graduated in 2000.

If you let it, it can get just as addicting as somking, drinking, etc. But its the bad publicity that it gets that makes people ask those kinds of questions. I have a MySpace account and I love it because I can easily and more visually keep in touch with people I havent seen in years and probably wont see in quite some times, but that I have known all my life. There is not one single person on my account as my friend that I do not know exactly who they are and have physically interacted with in the past. There are some great pages on there, but of course the only publicity that it gets is to people that abuse the website. It happens to everything. If something popular comes along there always has to be a way to exploit it and make it bad.

A very small number of children are using myspace to avoid reality.

It's not taking over mine, but I haven't seen my wife in three months. Her MySpace page is rockin' and I've learned to make a nice pasta salad for one...so I guess there are a few upsides to it.
