She meets the requirements, but she is not a person that I consider worthy of the job.

Negative press from her political enemies notwithstanding, I carry doubts Pelosi actually has what it takes to be a qualified House Speaker.

But the press were on-target right to expose her vain attempt to snag a taxpayer bought/maintained personal jet equal to Air Force One--a teeny lil red flag Girl Pelosi might be as politically corruptive as her male colleagues surely are (after all: you don't get THAT high in Washington politics by being nice....or honest, for that matter). Not exactly a shining proud moment for Girl Power 2007.

By the way: Girl Pelosi is THRID in the Line Of Succession should anything (Gawd forbid!) happen to Boy George (Bush) and Dick......Cheney.

hahah... is she the right person to be in the congress at all?...
oh well, there are plenty of nutjobs in the american political system so who says she can't be a speaker. She represents a part of the US population, unfortunatelly an increasing part, and a pretty wacked out people.
The sad thing is that there is no voice of reason left in the american political arena. You have the extreme left (like Pelosi) who are smart to appeal to the middle and lower class people (while they're really just using everybody to get what they want), and then there are the conservatives who have no freegin idea how hard it has become for the middle class worker who is having to compete with $4/hr workers in Asia.
Yup... and we're stuck between a rock and a hard place, and Nancy is part of the problem, not the solution.

Yes she is. Pelosi was elected by the members of her party in Congress because she is an excellent representative. They voted for her unanimously. She is intelligent, sensible, diplomatic and hard working. She is the highest ranking woman in the history of the United States government and her position as Speaker of the House is well deserved.

Personally, I think I'd make a decent Speaker of the House. But as I am not a member of Congress, I suppose I am inelegible. Oh, I'm also not a leader in the majority party.

Just a foot soldier.

So... yeah, she's fine.

She is a socialist witch. Nazi Pelosi is an insult to CA. She claims ethics are important and then appoints people that are questionable.

Yes, most definitely. Here's the million dollar question: Is Bush the right person for the White House?

She was chosen by the majority of the majority party. That's all that's required.
