As much as I can. Which unfortunately isn't that much! If I'm putting her to bed (4 nights out of 7) I'll usually read her a book before giving her her bottle if she's not too tired and I read to her anytime she brings me a book.

I've showed her books and read to her since she was born. She's a year old and has been showing more and more of an active interest in the last 2-3 months. Whereas initially she was mostly interested in the mechanics of the book - opening and closing it - now she points to different things on the page and pays attention to what I'm saying. There's a book with the line 'hands are to clap' and she laughs and claps her hands when I read it...

My daughter is 18 months old. I read to her whenever she brings me a book or when Im trying to calm her down for bedtime. It's usually about twice a day for as long as she wants (usually about half an hour or thereabouts). I dont think she understands all the words I'm saying yet but she likes to point at the pictures and tell me what they are.

I can't put a time estimate on it, but I usually read 3 books to my baby in one day. He is a month and 2 weeks old and really seems captivated by the book.

About an hour a day in total, she brings me books throughout the day that only take about 5 minutes to read twice and we read a story at bedtime

Not sure how much time, but we read the same book every day before each of his naps (usually 2 or 3). I also read to him throughout the day, but it depends on what kind of mood he's in and whether or not he wants to listen to me, sometimes he just wants to play!

Usually about 3 times a day - before naps and before bedtime - for about 10 minutes. He is only six months, so I read to him for as long as he can pay attention and enjoy it.

Im pregnant and i try to read to my stomach one book, or story a day. because her brain is developing it helps. and with a toddler the vocabulary can help a child talk and use a lot of different words.

When my daughter was very small we would read to her daily, for at least an hour a day, she LOVED being read to. By the time she was 2 she could recite a whole book, "The Roly Poly Spider" it was her favorite.

I can never get my two year-old to sit still to read to him during the day so my husband and I take turns reading to him at night as part of our bedtime routine. He sits in bed with his milk and favorite stuffed animal and we read 2-3 books.
