If they lose, make em have £9 an hour, take it from me, that'll wipe the smiles off their faces, and make them give an honest account of themselves. Maybe fans wouldnt be paying massive seat prices for 90 minutes of entertainment if the wages were a bit more realistic. Perhaps the proper fans who go every week (not me) should all boycott the games until something is done. You'd see some action then.

I totally agree with you something needs to be done as it is the fans that are ultimately paying these obscene wages i mean the ticket prices are ridiculous these days and how can somebody like beckham for an example be on more money then a doctor or nurse who save life's i love football but i think all the money is ruining the game for the fans but nice work if you can get it lol
the players should have a basic wage of say hundred grand a year and get bonuses when they win score clean sheet etc and also get money docked if they are seen to be diving or cheating or get sent off make the players work for there money and then they will want to play better so the fans get better value

yes.
as pointed out many other ppl will do so much more than kickin a ball about and neva see that sort of money.
Im an avid fan but do believe in recent years, its all gone a bit pear shaped in regards to wages....£130 000 a week for michael ballack?????
i believe they should cap earnings with only a select few earning up to £100 000 a week.

Totally agree with you. Also while your on what about these?
American Football players.
American Baseball Stars.
Basketball players.
Golfers (I.E.Tiger Woods over £60,000,0000 Per Year)
Grand Prix drivers (i.e.Shoemaker £1.000,000 Per Race)
Tennis Players (Wimbledon over £200,0000 to winner)
So as you can see its not only footballers who are making fortunes.
One thing people forget is that footballers generate money as well. How much employment and money is created in kit sales? How many shirts do you see with Tiger Woods or Shoemaker on the back, compared to football shirts?Remember not all footballers are on fortunes, get away from the premiership and the wages drop dramatically.

i think they should be capped to around 10-20k,
look at all the fans that are paying all that money to watch there
stars play, what to the fans get, nothing at all, what do the players get, big houses smart cars, and does frank lampard work hard for that money NO, but to docters and firemen YES,
they just to greedy,
if they capped the wage in england then we would see all the players leave the premiership, so do we want to see all the best players playing in spain, NO we need them here,,
but i would love to see what the players do if they did cap there wages,

the amount footballers are paid is obscene, i don't care that not many people can do what they do, they don't save lives or improve the world we live in.
their behaviour, on and off the pitch, once they have all this money is also disgusting. they need to learn some morals and sense of responsibility.
i think clubs should have a cap on the percentage of their turnover they can spend on players wages, like some american sports have.

well some people would disagree being a footballer isnt all fame and glory you know ! what about the lack of privacy, not being able to step out of the house without having papperazi and photographers there, it is also a hard game they train up to 5 times a week and get slated if there performance drops. however i do agree that people like doctors and fire fighters should get higher salaries because at the end of the day if your life was in danger who would you want to save you a footballer or a doctor ??

In Aussie rules, they have a total team money cap, so if you pay, for example, Rooney, a load of money, then you don't have much to pay the rest. However, being the cynic I am, I am sure the agents would come up with some convoluted deal whereby they still got loads of money. Totally in agreement with the principle, worry about the application.

oh i agree with you totally.I love football I have supported blackpool all my life.there is a vast difference to premiership players are on to what my club players would be played. One argument players put over is its a short time they can play. That makes me laugh. my husband has to work 5years to get the amount a player can get in a week he has 30 more years to retirement-so when you work it out top players only need to work 6 weeks to get the same amount as him.It does my head in when prices go up so much to help pay for greedy players thats for any team.Theres no loyalty to clubs because clubs are to soft with them, they shouldnt let the players rule, dont let them stamp there feet till they get there own way[ eg more money ].players at lower clubs like mine have to adapt and prepare for life after football.Top players should get more money but there as got to be a limit.

i think some players deserve it players like gerrard and terry who actually wanna play, but the ones who are just after there wage packet should be on a huge pay cut! they should learn to fall in love with football again
