Actually, you can do this. There is a product called Flame Thrower that claims to make flames up to twenty feet long. Its available for a company called AutoLoc and you can reach them at 1-800-485-1738. Their address is 201 S.E. Oak St., 2nd floor, Portland, OR 97214 U.S.A. Manufacturer states they are for off road use only.
Just make sure no living things are behind the car!

They are exhaust flame throwers, you can order kits online. Try spitfire. Fun. How old is the cadillac? Take it to a hot rod shop.
I've never heard the propane thing. They usually just use the exhaust fumes and a spark to create a flame.

You can buy flamer kits on line no problem just stick flamer kit in the E-bay search engine and hey presto there you go. They only take a couple of hours to fit. A lot of the dudes with the custom cars fit them Subaru Impreza etc.

That's called a cherry bomb. They are illegal everywhere. It isn't worth the hassle to try it. They use propane in the exhaust tailpipe to cause the flame, and the exhaust temp to ignite it. You would also need some type of one-way valve on the propane to prevent your tank from exploding. Very bad idea.....
